Glenwalk ("we", "our", or "the app") is a virtual walking challenge app that maps your real-world walking activity onto Scottish long-distance trails. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

• Account information — your email address, used to create and manage your account.
• Walking distance — read from Android Health Connect (with your permission). We access distance data to track your progress along trails.
• Trail progress — your progress along each trail, stored on our servers so it persists across devices and app reinstalls.
• Achievements — milestones and achievements you have earned within the app.
• Push notification token — if you enable notifications, we store a device token to send you activity reminders. This is optional.

Health Connect Data

Glenwalk requests read access to walking distance from Android Health Connect. We do not access any other health data (heart rate, sleep, nutrition, etc.). Health Connect data is used solely to update your trail progress and is not shared with any third party.

How We Use Your Data

• To track and display your progress along trails
• To award achievements and milestones
• To send optional inactivity reminders via push notification
• To restore your progress if you reinstall the app or switch devices

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on servers in the EU. We use row-level security to ensure your data is only accessible to you.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties, except as required by law.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Account tab → Delete Account).

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Withdraw Health Connect permissions at any time via Android Settings

Children

Glenwalk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated via the app.
